Would you believe it, this is the first time Miss Poppet has enjoyed the swing!

I also thought it was time to do another blog kit freebie, remember to check out my tutorials for how to apply these kits to your blog.

If you use this kit on your blog I'd love to see what it looks like!  (Post a comment with your blog link below :0)

Crochet & Other Things

So, I thought I would extend this blog to all things crafty that I do.

My Mum and Grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 11, I started off making a blanket which to this day is still stashed away unfinished.  The arrival of my niece brought forth a newfound passion for the craft and I lovingly made her a baby blanket after re-learning how to crochet with the help of google and you tube.    Lately I've been busy making some cute accessories for my baby girl and some items for the local markets...that is the ones that don't get snuffled up by family first!  I doubt that first blanket will ever get finished.

I also made the little red dress!

I'm also lucky to have a Grandmother that sews!!  I don't quite have the knack for it that she does but I do OK.  I will admit, I was hoping to have a boy first so any further children could have a 'big brother' to look out for them, but little girls are just so much fun!  My sewing machine is being put to good use and I'm looking forward to summer so I can make her even more dresses.
My girl's 1st birthday dress!

Super-soaker dribble bibs for my teething baby.

I'm actually quite impressed with how well my home-made cloth nappy holds up!

And last of all for tonight - cakes!  Yum, who can resist???

More Layouts

This is a bit of a catch-up post as I've been quite busy this last month!  I never thought that being a Mum would make you more sociable than when you were working with all the playgroups, coffee groups, committee meetings, toy library duties and other baby activities!

First off, I love this kit from Pasko Creations - Refreshing Girl - it's one of my favs, reminds me off summer and it was a good pick me up for our cold gloomy winter days here in NZ.  You can get it at Cool Scrap Digital.

Winter swimming lessons in the local heated pool.  Miss Poppet just loves the water!

We're lucky to have a huge deck which drys reasonably quick in the winter sun, our girl loves playing outside.  Check out her toothy grin!

Cool Scrap Digital have a new Blind Scraplift Challenge - it's loads of fun, I used Pasko's Tomboy kit for the challenge - again you can purchase it at Cool Scrap Digital.  Have a look at the previews as there is way more cute elements included in this kit which I didn't use in the challenge.

I am still amazed that our girl has blue eyes!  I think they're more blue-grey but still amazing from two grey-eyed parents - it's the strong O'(for Irish/English) family genes coming out :0P

Our girl is nearly 1 and I still haven't finished her photo scrapbook!  Her birthday isn't far off now so I will need to try and finish it before she is 1 year old.  The kit 'Doors to my World' reminds me of a botanical garden, another flirty kit.  Get it at Cool Scrap Digital.
